Holy Moly!

Where has the time gone? I haven't been on here in so long.. my laptop took a dive, and I forgot about this blog completely. So, lets see.. it's been 2 years.. 2 years?!? So many things have changed. The kids are getting bigger- Hannah is now on her way to FIRST grade, and Grahm will be starting TK in the Fall. Both kids have done amazing in school and continue to surprise us daily with the things they know how to spell, read and write. This year has not come without challenges, we recently found out that both kids have food allergies- YIKES. Grahm is allergic to Dairy and Hannah is allergic to Shellfish. The shellfish hasn't been much of a problem, but the diary has been crazy. Our whole house is pretty much dairy free, because we found it was easier and more fair to completely give it up. It has been challenging for our little guy because he's such a picky eater anyway, so not being able to have mac n cheese has been sucky. On top of that, Grahm also has sever asthma- and that sucks, but we are dealing. I am thankful for what life has handed us so far, and thankful we can educate others on food allergy awareness.

Kale chips..

are AMAZING- and good for you. I first heard of them on one of the blogs I follow (can't remember which one) and thought they sounded pretty good. I forgot all about them until the other day while in the grocery store with Kevin and the kids. So, I picked up a bunch. Tonight while the kids were getting ready for bed I decided to make it.. I rinsed the kale off, and then ripped it into bite size pieces. I put all of the pieces into a mixing bowl, and then drizzled EVOO on top and mixed by hand to make sure all pieces were evenly coated. I then put some season all and black pepper and laid them out on a cookie sheet (covered in parchment paper for easy clean up) I baked them at 350 for 10ish minutes.. you can tell when they are getting close to done.. they will crunch. Be careful.. they will burn if you don't check them regularly (the burnt ones weren't that bad- and now I know for next time to make the sizes more uniform). Anyway, they crunch like a chip and are good for you. Try them out.

Day Twentyseven: My day job verses my passion

My day job: I work loss prevention at a local retail store. I like it alright, I enjoy the atmosphere and the people. I don't really like following people on the floor because I'm not really any good at it. Although I'm hoping to get better.

My passion: My passion is my children. I would love nothing more than to be a stay at home Mom again. I miss days of waking up early and doing arts and crafts in the kitchen, going for a long walk to the park and spending every minute of my day with my 2 beautiful children. I was blessed to have been able to be a stay at home Mom for 3 years.. and hopefully soon I will be able to again.

Day Twentyfive: What I would find in your bag

In my bag.. well, I suppose it really depends on who I am with. If it's just me, you will find my wallet, taser, misc. receipts, chapstick, cell phone, hair tie and keys. If I have the kids with me, you will find all of the above plus a few diapers, wipes, cups, instant kool-aid packs and a couple of toys.
